A typical series will begin with twelve players. Three players will be selected to begin as a
Traitor
- everybody else will begin as a
Faithful
.
Each player will be assigned a unique power to assist them in either catching
The Traitors
before it's too late if they are a
Faithful
,
or to stop that from happening if they are a
Traitor
.
Each
Traitor
will also be assigned a false
Faithful
power not already belonging to a player. They won't be able to use the power's ability, but they can safely
claim it to blend in with
The Faithful
.
Depending on the series, a
Faithful
may also unknowingly be drunk. A drunk
Faithful
's
power will never work as intended, meaning any information they learn will be false, and any ability they
attempt to use will fail. While a drunk
Faithful
's
power will appear with drunk in the name in any recorded game logs, such as
The Drunk Cleanser
,
players will never be told whether they are drunk during a series, instead believing they are simply
The Cleanser
,
though it will typically be clarified before a series takes place whether a drunk
Faithful
will be, or could be in play.
Here's an example of how powers could be distributed at the beginning of a series:
| Player | Power |
|---|---|
Sunny |
The Bartender (false:The Analyst ) |
Efe |
The Falsifier (false:The Researcher ) |
Makena |
The Silencer (false:The Sheriff ) |

Kai |
The Detective![]() |
Zuri |
The Historian![]() |
Steve |
The Mimic![]() |
Ari |
The Sober![]() |
Noor |
The Spy![]() |
Lastly, one player will be the host. The host is responsible for progressing the series and guiding players through each stage of the game, and as such, their instructions should be followed.
